Marble and stone
Chips, scratches, stains, lost shine, grinding and polishing — including book-matched slabs where one panel cannot be replaced.
In Dubai it is easy to get used to replacing anything that breaks. That stops working when the piece costs tens or hundreds of thousands of dirhams, when the stone was bought for a specific project and there is no second batch, and when the next delivery is three or four months away.
The climate generates the work: air-conditioning dries timber, the gap between outdoors and indoors causes condensation, sand acts as an abrasive, and furniture in a rental flat survives several moves in a couple of years. Damage is not an exception here but something to plan for.
Restoration is not a universal substitute for renovation. If the material is in stock and the area is easy to replace, the honest answer is to replace it. We restore where replacement is more expensive, slower or physically impossible.

Chipped edges, water swelling, worn corners, loose joints, veneer.
Re-covering, filling, seams, cracked and worn leather, colour matching.
18th–19th-century furniture, frames, mirrors, gilding, metal — using historical techniques, reversibly.
The decision comes down to three figures: the price of a new equivalent, the price of restoration and the price of time. The third is often forgotten, and in a rental flat it decides: two weeks waiting for new furniture is two weeks without income on top of the purchase. Restoration usually fits between tenants and does not move the move-in date.
The quote is worked out before work starts, operation by operation — material, type of damage, colour matching — so it can be compared with the cost of replacement straight away.

When the material is in stock, the damage is structural or goes right through, the cause (a leak, a moving substrate) has not been fixed, or the property is being renovated anyway.

Yes, most stone and built-in joinery work is done on site, within the building’s rules on noise and access.
